PROGRAM OVERVIEW
It's our prayer that Urbana 09 is an eye-opening, life-transforming, commitment-producing call to join God's mission.
Morning Bible Study
Each morning at Urbana begins in an energetic, yet reflective, time of Bible study in the Gospel of John. In these "inductive" Bible studies, led by InterVarsity staff, particpants will grow in their ability to study the Bible and encounter Jesus through scripture. Some time is spent praying and processing before heading into the morning general session.
Morning & Evening General Sessions
Worship with thousands of people and hear from dynamic speakers from around the world. Because of the international nature of Urbana, North Americans may not be familiar with some of the speakers who come from abroad. Urbana is designed to give participants opportunities to learn more about God’s mission from gifted leaders whose experiences and culture may be different from their own.
Urbana is a truly multi-cutlural and multi-national experience. And why wouldn’t it be? God’s global mission is about drawing all people and nations to himself. Catch a glimpse of what that might look like as people from many different ethnic communities and nations meet one another at Urbana.
Afternoon Tracks & Seminars
Each afternoon a variety of seminars which have been topically organized by "majors" and tracks to help you go deeper into various topics. Our hope is that the seminar program allows participants to focus as well as network with others who have similar interests. See Tracks & Seminars for the complete list of seminar topics.
