Evangelism Seminars
Building Bridges with the Gay and Lesbian Community
This workshop will explore the core biblical and social principles, as well as the practical applications, of what it means to be a cultural leader in this Bridge Building Movement with the gay community.
Contextualizing the Gospel
John is a master at sharing the gospel message by co-opting the cultural cues of his time (i.e. Word, Logos). Learn how we can appropriately co-opt cultural cues and major theories of our day to share the gospel.
Conversational Evangelism Tools
Join us as we advocate for the wide-spread use of Conversational Evangelism as a way to engage people in spiritual conversation and also to help train Christians in evangelism. A clear explanation of how to do Conversational Evangelism well will be given along with instruction on how to transition a conversation to sharing the gospel using the Big Story illustration. Practical demonstrations will be given and opportunities for practice in pairs as time allows.
Evangelism is Not a Dirty Word
As secular culture becomes more resistant to Christians “imposing” their beliefs on others, and many churches changing their models of outreach toward hands-on community service, what has become of evangelism? What is the Biblical response?
Expanding the Gospel
We are told that the gospel is good news, yet sometimes sharing our faith can often feel like a forced script or an outdated message. Come and learn about the life-changing, earth-shaking implications of the message of Jesus. Learn how to listen to the Holy Spirit and communicate this message in relevant and compelling ways. Let the gospel change your life in awesome ways as you seek to influence others.
GLBT Community and the Church
Join us as we focus on incarnational presence through friendship as a core missional movement for the church called to reach and engage our gay neighbors. Future steps for the church in diverse contexts will be explored.
Helping Churches Love Gay People
How do evangelicals - saddled by divorce and porn rates that rival our secular culture - reach gay people on the basis of moral absolutes? Answer: We don’t. God designed it this way to keep us humble. We must radically level the playing field and remove hidden blind spots before we can see gay people through the eyes of Jesus. This compelling seminar of redemptive ministry ideas - built off our blind spots – will transform the way ministries care for and extend Christ to gay people.
Homosexuality and the Gospel: Winning Gay Friends to Christ
Having lived as a homosexual and now teaching at Moody Bible Institute, Christopher Yuan combines his life experiences with his training in the health sciences and Bible and theology to bring a fresh perspective on how to share Christ with homosexual friends. Without any compromise of truth or grace, it is possible to express deep and sincere care and compassion for LGBT friends while remaining faithful to Gospel Truth.

Jesus Meets Fraternity Row
One of the most strategic yet untapped student groups on North American campuses today are Fraternity and Sorority students. If you want to hear what God is doing with these students, how you can reach out to friends in the Greek system, or how to start up ministry amongst Greeks on campus then you don’t want to miss this seminar.
Pathways to Effective Witness on Campus
Join us as we explore ways to develop a comprehensive plan for doing Evangelism on your campus or in your community that will allow everyone in your fellowship to find a place for involvement. We will discuss training people well, praying together for conversions, and various strategies for sharing the gospel that help people jump on board at a level of comfort that fits their gifts and maturity in Christ.
Postmodern Apologetics
Christian students frequently have trouble responding to the typical assaults that professors or the students’ peers make regarding religion in general and Christianity in particular. In addition, well-meaning Christians are afraid to challenge their peers because they are afraid of being labeled ‘judgmental,” “close-minded,” or “intolerant.” Join us as we seek to address both of these concerns. How can university students respectfully engage their classmates and professors and have an impact on the university in general and students in particular? We will pay attention to both style and content and look at some specific burning issues and attitudes.
Sharing the Gospel in an Increasingly Unchurched Culture
Do we present a Gospel that’s too small? When our Gospel is focused merely on the after-life, today’s unchurched find our message irrelevant, and possibly intolerant. Come to discover a clear, field-tested way to present a larger vision of the Gospel — one closer to what Jesus taught. Learn why the big story — including the essential phrases designed for good; damaged by evil; restored for better; and sent together to heal — connects with friends who live in an increasingly unchurched culture and encourages believers to share a faith that truly feels like good news.
